At one point everyone went to do their own thing and Robert and Kaela were left discussing the Hilliard Fireworks. Then... their first kiss. This made it official. It was only a minute or two of privacy, and a second or two kiss, but it was long enough for them to know they wanted to spend some time together.
Little did they know that night that time together would turn into forever and always.
During the first year of Robert and Kaela's relationship, Robert spent his senior year of college driving an hour back and forth from Ohio University to attend Kaela's high school events, and simply to spend time with her. They tried to include each other as much as possible knowing that long distance relationships can be rough.
After Robert graduated he moved in with his parents in Columbus knowing that after Kaela's senior year he might want to relocate to wherever she went to college. After working for a small software company during Kaela's senior year, he started a business with a friend. Robert made sure to visit Kaela in North Carolina often during her freshman year at East Carolina University. Though the distance was hard, they made the best of the time they had together.
The business Robert and his friend started took them to Pennsylvania most of Kaela's sophmore year of college. Robert found himself very busy with work, which made it difficult for him to visit Kaela - He was only able to visit Kaela twice during her entire sophmore year at ECU.
The couple started talking about getting an apartment together. Robert decided to leave his partner and start up his own business that would allow him to relocate to North Carolina when the time was right.
About this time Robert approached Kaela's father to discuss their tentative plans to live together and Robert's intentions to propose to Kaela. While their discussion is private and rather insignificant to this page, you know the outcome - Kaela's wearing a nice big pretty ring - Robert proposed at Red, White & Boom!
Summer of 2008, Robert and Kaela both moved into a plush Greenville, NC apartment with another ECU friend. You can view photos of the place by visiting the travel page on this website.
During her Junior year at ECU, Kaela realized that she was ahead of schedule with the classes she was required to take to graduate. After much thought and consideration, Kaela decided that it'd be best to graduate early. She secured an internship with the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Ohio in Columbus for fall semester of her senior year and plans to graduate a semester early in December 2009.
Further details of Robert and Kaela's residence are forthcoming. This is dependent on Kaela's acceptance to graduate school. However, the two have been caught house shopping in Columbus.
